In my quest to enhance my coding skills, I recently stumbled upon a YouTube channel called Nomad Coder. The title of one particular video immediately caught my attention.
– “Genius-Exclusive Note App.”
Intrigued by its apparent appeal, I decided to give it a try. However, as I started using it, I struggled with utilizing this new tool effectively. Until now, I have relied on platforms such as OneNote and Google Drive to organize the coding concepts I learned in class. So naturally, questions arose: did I need another tool?
But then something about Obsidian captured my interest
Pros
– its powerful feature, the Graph View.
The ability to visually represent complex notes seemed incredibly captivating:

Establishing connections between different notes within Obsidian is relatively straightforward; enclose the desired title within double square brackets like so [[Linked Note Title]]. This enables easy navigation between related notes and provides an intuitive visual depiction of information flow through the Graph View.
However, one aspect left me initially puzzled – contrary to what might be assumed at first glance, where higher-level and lower-level documents are automatically linked together when creating new ones, each note needs manual linking. This sometimes made me wish for a more streamlined process, perhaps involving a simple one-click link option designed explicitly for lengthy or symbol-laden document names.
As time went on and my familiarity with Obsidian grew more profound, I discovered certain Markdown features that have become indispensable tools for me:

Furthermore, the mentioned hyperlink functionality has become an essential component of my workflow.
If we were to categorize these characteristics as “Vital Elements of Obsidian Markdown,
” they would be prioritized at the forefront.
Although the appeal of a free tool with extensive capabilities is undeniable,
it is crucial to acknowledge its limitations:
Cons:
Challenges in Creating Tables: Obsidian’s primary purpose does not revolve around table creation. Suggestions from various sources recommend generating Excel tables and importing them into Obsidian. This raises questions about why one should initially utilize Obsidian for this specific task.
Paid Features Required for Device Syncing: I work exclusively on my computer without experiencing any inconvenience. However, concerns arise regarding potential difficulties when managing an increasing number of notes in the future since device syncing mandates a paid subscription.
As I delve deeper into exploring Obsidian, only time will determine how well it aligns with my coding journey and organizational requirements.
